Frequently Asked Questions

We can help you with that...

No, Sing Now is a non-auditioned choir. We are open to everyone and stick to this ethos wholeheartedly. You’ll never be asked to sing solo or audition. All you have to do is turn up for your free taster session! You may find other choirs have ‘no audition process’ but will then ask you to sing a few scales before you join or put you through a trial period… we just don’t work like that.

We do not use sheet music at Sing Now Choir. We learn our harmonies by a ‘call and response’ method. Lyric sheets are used to help us learn the songs.

Sign-up for your free taster session online. Then, all you have to do is turn up and relax! If you decide you want to become an official member, you can start your membership online. We’ll email you the details after your taster session. Your choir location may have a waiting list in place, more on this below.

To keep our choirs from losing that personal touch, we limit each location to 100 members. When booking online, the form will notify you if your chosen location is full. You can then register to receive updates on your chosen choir location. You’ll receive regular updates and will be notified as soon as a space comes up. There is no fee to join the waiting list.

First of all, a friendly welcome by the choir leader. You’ll then be introduced to fellow choir members and made to feel very welcome! The choir leader will explain about our different harmony groups and answer any questions you may have. You can do as little or as much as you like, the main thing is that you enjoy yourself and relax!

The membership fee is £25.00 per month. When you start your membership online, the payment is taken each month from your account.

We take a monthly membership fee and that's it! There are no joining fees and no longterm contracts or agreements. You can cancel your account at any point throughout the month and your billing cycle will stop.

We broke the mould when we decided not to stick to a term time schedule. We meet all year round, with the occasional Rest Weeks. You'll most likely find that we rehearse more than choir chains in the UK and never stop singing for big summer breaks. Our Rest Weeks are published online via our blog and Members' Area.

Check out the Locations page on our website for more detailed rehearsal information. Generally, you'll find that our choirs rehearse on an evening during the week. We meet all year round, with the occasional Rest Weeks. You can find our Rest Weeks schedule for the year via our blog or by contacting us.

We receive invitations to perform at a variety of events throughout the year. Performances are typically open to all members, however, attendance isn’t mandatory.

Yes, the choir is made up of 4 different harmony groups. Melody is the main tune within a song, and the harmony compliments it! The harmony has entirely different notes and often creates a chord with the melody.

Not at all. Previous experience is not necessary. We’ll help you understand more about harmony singing as you spend more time within the choir.

Our repertoire is mainly focused towards pop music. However, we love all styles of music and you’ll often be surprised at what we’re learning next! We take pride in our unique musical arrangements and aim to step away from standard (and sometimes predictable!) choir songs.

This is a secure part of our website where members can access their harmony audio files (download & stream), view/print lyrics and check the latest dates added to our calendar. The Members’ Area is also where singers can update their account/membership, download helpful guides and gain access to our members only Facebook groups.

Sing Now members must be over the age of 18.
