COVID-19

Outdoor sessions were a great success! 🌲

After a few failed attempts at getting back to singing indoors (due to government COVID-19 restrictions), we decided to go outdoors 🌳. 5 weeks later, we can now plan to move back indoors!

Luckily, our Southampton and Basingstoke venues had outdoor spaces for us to make use off. However, our Fareham choir were left struggling to find an outdoor space to begin with. After lots of digging and thinking, we contacted The Rainbow Centre to see if we could use their garden, and they said yes! The Rainbow Centre are a charity who support people affected by neurological conditions. They were amazingly helpful and gave us a temporary home for 5 weeks. We were more than happy to pay our usual hire fee which was accepted by The Rainbow Centre as a donation.

None of the outdoor spaces had cover and so we were at the mercy of the UK’s summer weather… and, yes, it rained. Our members were amazing and came prepared each week for rain, thunder and sometimes, glorious sunshine.

Outdoor rehearsals aren’t ideal, but it was fantastic to see friends again and have a sing! We are now planning to resume indoor rehearsals from the 26th July 2021. These sessions are only open to current members, but watch this space for news on when we will be inviting new singers along!
